Baseball Game Preview: Riverside Pirates vs. Nyssa Bulldogs

Riverside is 2-8 against Nyssa since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Pirates will look to defend their home field against the Bulldogs at 12:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Riverside and Umatilla meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Pirates came up short against the Vikings, falling 13-3.

Roberto Lopez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double was his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Nyssa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 10-0 to McLoughlin.

Riverside's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Nyssa, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
