Volleyball Recap: Bishop LeBlond Takes a Loss

Bishop LeBlond was the 3-0 winner over East Buchanan when they last played one another on Monday, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs on Saturday.

While Bishop LeBlond ultimately came up short, they really made East Buchanan work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 26-24.

Katie Sego paced Bishop LeBlond's offense, picking up six kills. Sego got some help from Kendall Cathcart and her ten assists.

Leading East Buchanan to victory were Kaylynn Engnes and Maggie Whitt. Engnes had 13 digs and one assist, while Whitt had 18 assists and eight digs. That's the most assists Whitt has posted over her last 17 matches.

Bishop LeBlond's defeat dropped their record down to 16-3-1. As for East Buchanan, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8-3 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: East Buchanan beat Bishop LeBlond by a score of 2-1 later that day.
