Baseball Recap: Liberty Beats Frontier for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Liberty waltzed into their contest on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Frontier Titans by a score of 5-2. The Patriots have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Titans, too.

Brogan Witcher made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over 6.2 innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Liberty is undefeated when Witcher posts two or more runs, but 4-5 otherwise.

In other batting news, Braden Turman was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run. Brody Berry was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Liberty's record is now 8-5. As for Frontier, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Frontier beat Liberty by a score of 4-2 on Wednesday.
