Soccer Game Preview: Wenatchee vs. Sunnyside

The Wenatchee Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Sunnyside Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Wenatchee took on Eastmont on Tuesday. The Panthers fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 3-2. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Wenatchee came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 15th, while Eastmont are ranked 117th).

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous six matchup, Sunnyside brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They walked away with a 4-2 victory over West Valley on Tuesday. Sunnyside haven't had any issues with West Valley recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Sunnyside now has a winning record of 7-6-1. As for Wenatchee, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 10-2 record.

Wenatchee took their victory against Sunnyside when the teams last played back in April by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
