Recap: Payson Lions vs. Provo Bulldogs
Even though The Payson Lions have not done well against the Provo Bulldogs recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Payson managed a 27-21 win over Provo. The score was all tied up 7-7 at the break, but Payson was the better team in the second half.
The critical scores for Payson came from Dylan Wall and Lincoln Ewell.
One reason for the win was Payson's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. Leading the way was Owen Cottle and his three sacks.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kyle Larsen, who picked up 134 receiving yards and a touchdown. Larsen was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 67 yards. Feitagai Lesa was another key contributor, rushing for 76 yards and a touchdown.
Payson's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Provo, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.
Payson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Provo also has no future games currently scheduled.
