Football Recap: Bowman Academy Eagles vs. Lake Station Edison Fighting Eagles
Bowman Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Lake Station Edison Fighting Eagles at home and fell 39-12. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 22-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2023.
Oscar Alderson had an outrageously good game for Lake Station Edison as he rushed for 137 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards Alderson has posted since back in September of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of David Parker, who rushed for 58 yards and two touchdowns.
Bowman Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Lake Station Edison, the win snapped their losing streak at nine games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-4 record.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bowman Academy will take on North White at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Bowman Academy is facing North White at the right time seeing as North White is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Lake Station Edison, they are on the road again on Friday to play Hammond Bishop Noll at 8:00 p.m.
