Softball Recap: Los Altos Takes a Loss

After flying high against South Hills last Wednesday, Los Altos came back down to earth. The Conquerors lost 12-2 to the Granada Hills Charter Highlanders on Saturday. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Conquerors, who until this match were averaging 3.24 runs allowed.

Brianah Alejandre made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.

The loss snapped Los Altos' winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-6 record. As for Granada Hills Charter, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-2.

Coming up, Los Altos will head out on the road to challenge Alta Loma at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Conquerors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Braves have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Granada Hills Charter, they will welcome California at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Condors' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Highlanders' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
