Basketball Recap: Roland-Story Comes Up Short

Roland-Story was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 50-48 heartbreaker at the hands of the Dike-New Hartford Wolverines. While losing is never fun, the Norsemen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 260th, while the Wolverines are ranked 122nd).

Roland-Story's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Dike-New Hartford, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Roland-Story won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Greene County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Dike-New Hartford, they will also get right back to it: they'll face off against Oelwein at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
