Softball Game Preview: Burley Bobcats vs. Canyon Ridge Riverhawks

The Burley Bobcats will take on the Canyon Ridge Riverhawks at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Burley's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Canyon Ridge has been banged up by 15 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

On Wednesday, Burley came up short against Preston and fell 6-3.

Meanwhile, Canyon Ridge lost 22-7 to Twin Falls on Thursday.

Megan Kennedy and Audrey Wood stepped up to the plate in a big way. Kennedy went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and four RBI, while Wood went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those stolen bases marked the first that Wood has snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dani Toolson, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

Burley's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Canyon Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.

Burley skirted past Canyon Ridge 9-8 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Bobcats repeat their success, or do the Riverhawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
