Basketball Recap: San Juan Takes a Loss

The San Juan Broncos were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 51-47 to the Wayne Badgers.

Despite the loss, San Juan still got an impressive performance from Khimya Fullwood, who dropped a double-double with 29 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jordan Jones, who posted five points and 11 boards.

Wayne's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lilly Morrill, who put up 11 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of AJ VanDyke, who scored nine points in addition to six boards and three steals.

San Juan dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

San Juan will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Logan at 7:00 p.m. on December 4. As for Wayne, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 56-15 victory against Monticello on the 22nd.
