Softball Recap: Salesian College Preparatory Picks Up Sixth Straight Win at Home

While Salesian College Preparatory's win against El Cerrito wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Pride narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Gauchos 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Pride in their matchups with the Gauchos: they've now won six in a row.

DeAmor Coleman was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned run off eight hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024.

Salesian College Preparatory's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for El Cerrito, they moved to 17-3 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Coming up, Salesian College Preparatory will head out to take on Piedmont at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pride's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Highlanders have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. El Cerrito does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
