Basketball Game Preview: Will Rogers College Ropers vs. McAlester Buffaloes

After both having extra time off, the Will Rogers College Ropers and the McAlester Buffaloes will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Will Rogers College comes in on three and McAlester on four.

Will Rogers College will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Holland Hall, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. Will Rogers College walked away with a 50-40 victory over Holland Hall last Saturday. While the Ropers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Will Rogers College found their leader in sophomore Branden Crosslen, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. Crosslen's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Dkarrion Titsworth was another key player, putting up nine points.

Meanwhile, McAlester beat Pryor 66-53 last Friday. Given the Buffaloes' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while the Tigers are ranked 353rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Will Rogers College's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for McAlester, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
