Recap: Mountain Ridge Miners vs. Northern Huskies

There's no place like home for the Mountain Ridge Miners, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. They strolled past Northern with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 65-47. That's another feather in the cap for Mountain Ridge, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mountain Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cameron Breighner, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. Breighner hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen McGeady, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.

The win got Mountain Ridge back to even at 6-6. As for Northern, they dropped their record down to 5-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Mountain Ridge will face off against Keyser at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Keyser focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 last Friday. Northern won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Fort Hill at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. One thing working in Fort Hill's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games.
