Baseball Recap: Eldred Triumphs

Eldred's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Livingston Manor Wildcats. The victory continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won five in a row.

The team relied heavily on Jake Card, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Austin Spannos was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

Eldred's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Livingston Manor, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Eldred will welcome Genesee Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Livingston Manor, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Tri-Valley at 4:30 p.m. on the 22nd.
