Softball Recap: Robertson Takes a Loss

Robertson's last matchup with Rio Rancho could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Thursday. Robertson came up short against Rio Rancho, falling 19-3. The Cardinals were not able to make up for their loss to the Rams from their previous meeting back in March of 2022.

Robertson saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylee Griego, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. That's the most stolen bases Griego has posted since back in April of 2024.

Even though they lost, Robertson hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts in three consecutive matchups.

Robertson's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Rio Rancho, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Robertson will take on La Cueva in a tournament on Friday. As for Rio Rancho, they will be taking part in a tournament against Bloomfield on Friday.
