Baseball Recap: North Thurston's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

North Thurston owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Saturday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Port Angeles Roughriders. The win was familiar territory for the Rams, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Not much got past Grady Wright, who gave up just six hits to keep Port Angeles off the board. Wright has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Rudy Larson, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Kennedy, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

Larson wasn't the only one working in the home run department: North Thurston lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

North Thurston's record is now 8-5. As for Port Angeles, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Thurston will challenge River Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Port Angeles, they will face off against North Kitsap at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Roughriders' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
