Senior quarterback led team to 55-54 shootout win over King's Academy.
Mayers connected on 19 of 30 pass attempts for 374 yards and six
touchdowns in a 55-54 victory over
King's Academy. The senior quarterback also ran six times for 36 yards.
Here are the rest of this week's candidates:

Mykel Calixte, Dr. Phillips: Junior wide receiver caught 10 passes for 309 yards and two touchdowns in 76-60 loss
against Lake Mary.

Davion Gause,
Chaminade-Madonna (Hollywood): Senior running back ran for 176 yards
and a pair of long touchdown runs on 17 carries in a signature 35-14
victory against national No. 12 St. Frances Academy.

Noah Grubbs,
Lake Mary: Sophomore quarterback threw for 528 yards and eight touchdowns in a 76-60 victory over Dr. Phillips.
•
Caden Harshbarger, Lake Mary: Senior wide
receiver hauled seven passes for 205 yards and three touchdowns in the in the 76-60 victory over Dr. Phillips.

Jason Patterson,
Sneads: Senior running back ran for 254 yards and
four touchdowns on 12 carries. He also hauled in three passes for 31
yards and a pair of touchdowns in a 64-34 win over Cottondale.
•
Shawn Simeon,
Naples: Junior running back ran for 241 yards and three touchdowns on 16 carries in a 43-12 victory over Lehigh.

Ennio Yapoor,
Norland (Miami): Junior quarterback was 20 of 26 passing for 489 yards and five touchdowns while running for 40 yards and a touchdown in 48-34 win over Lakeland.
