Basketball Recap: Temple Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Temple Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt an 85-57 loss at the hands of the Foothills Christian Flame. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Flame this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 76-44 on Saturday.

Despite the defeat, Temple Christian Academy had strong showings from Casey Merritt, who went 8-for-16 to rack up 19 points and four steals, and Carter Hall, who shot 43% from the field en route to 17 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Hall's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Elliot Holbrook, who posted 11 points.

Temple Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Foothills Christian, the victory (which was their seventh in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0.
