Westlake is 7-1 against East Coweta since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Lions will challenge the Indians at 7:30 p.m. East Coweta took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Westlake, who comes in off a win.
It was a proper cat-fight when Westlake faced off against Chapel Hill on Friday. The Lions claimed a resounding 41-10 victory over the Panthers. With the Lions ahead 34-7 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

It was another big night for Cannon Robinson, who threw for 306 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.8 yards per attempt. Those five passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Roscoe Hayes also helped out with an impressive 82 receiving yards.
Westlake's run defense was locked in: Chapel Hill could only muster 1.1 yards per carry. While three picked up at least seven total tackles, Elijah Cox stood above the rest. He picked up two sacks and made seven total tackles (3.0 for loss). Westlake's run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed 3.65 yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 4.2 on average over their last three games.
Westlake's defense didn't let Jordan Spencer, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for six sacks. In that department, Cox was the leader with two. He also made seven total tackles, which is notable because Westlake is 2-1 when he posts at least four total tackles, but 2-4 otherwise. Another thorn in Chapel Hill's side was Royal Walker, who forced one fumble and made seven total tackles (4.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, East Coweta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 50-23 loss at the hands of Carrollton. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Trojans are ranked third).
Westlake will have to keep a close watch on Jax Bowles and Ricky Howell Jr, a pair of players who had a big impact on East Coweta's prior game. Bowles threw for 300 yards and a pair of TDs, while Howell Jr picked up 87 receiving yards and one score.
Special teams played a big role in the game for East Coweta, adding 11 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Chance Gilbert, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
East Coweta didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Dylan Holston.
Westlake's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-5. As for East Coweta, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
Westlake beat East Coweta 48-35 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
