Volleyball Recap: Bishop's Comes Up Short

After flying high against Maranatha Christian on Tuesday, Bishop came back down to earth. The Knights fell 3-1 to the Cathedral Catholic Dons on Thursday. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Dons recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Cathedral Catholic scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 23-25, 25-19, 25-23.

Cathedral Catholic was led to victory by Baylee Wilson and Sierra Aswad. Wilson had 15 digs and five assists, while Aswad had 17 assists and ten digs. Those five assists gave Wilson a new career-high.

Bishop's suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 22-7. As for Cathedral Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season.

Bishop's wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against La Jolla Country Day on the 21st. As for Cathedral Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Academy of Our Lady of Peace on the 20th.
