Thatcher Johnson gave up the fewest hits he has since back in March on Monday. He was unstoppable, tossing seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Gilbert is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 7-12 otherwise.

Even though Johnson couldn't lead Gilbert over Higley, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers have some work to do to even out the 2-8 series between these two since April of 2019, but a win here would be a good start.
