Softball Recap: Bellevue Wolverines vs. Interlake Saints

Bellevue won against Sammamish last Friday with 21 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Bellevue Wolverines sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 21-20 win over the Interlake Saints. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Bellevue.

Ava Warner was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Wascher, who went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and a run.

On Interlake's side, Dorah Wang was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in four of her seven plate appearances. Another player making a difference was JJ Jimenez Hernandez, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of her six plate appearances.

Bellevue's victory ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-8. As for Interlake, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Bellevue will head out on the road to challenge Lake Washington at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lake Washington will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Bellevue surely won't give up without a fight. As for Interlake, they will be playing at home against Highline at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Interlake is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.
