Basketball Game Preview: Trenton Tigers vs. Eastside Rams

Having just played yesterday, the Trenton Tigers will jump right back in to play the Eastside Rams at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Trenton sitting on four straight victories and Eastside on three.

On Friday, Trenton really took it to Oak Hall for the full four quarters, racking up a 57-30 win. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 22 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Trenton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nyima Gillyard, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 13 points and three steals. Gillyard is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayley Sloan, who went 6 for 10 on her way to 17 points.

Meanwhile, Eastside didn't have too much trouble with Fernandina Beach on Tuesday as they won 37-19.

Trenton has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points per game. As for Eastside, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-6.

Everything came up roses for Trenton against Eastside when the teams last played back in November of 2015, as the squad secured a 57-17 win. In that match, Trenton amassed a halftime lead of 35-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Saturday.
