Softball Recap: Enterprise Falls to Sebastopol in First Game of Season

Enterprise had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 4-0 to the Sebastopol Bobcats on Friday. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.

Meredith Dearman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on seven hits and racked up 14 Ks. Those 14 strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Enterprise saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Saylee Perry, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Sebastopol's victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Enterprise wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 12-9 loss against Newton County on the 14th. As for Sebastopol, they are taking a road trip to face off against Clarkdale at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
