Baseball Recap: Escambia Takes a Loss

Escambia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Davidson Warriors. The Gators were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 12-3.

Marcus Days made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Even though they lost, Escambia hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Davidson struck out eight times.

Escambia's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Davidson, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Escambia will challenge Pensacola at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Davidson, they will face off against Baldwin County at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
