Basketball Recap: Stillwater's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Wednesday

Stillwater won the last time they faced Forest Lake and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Stillwater Ponies walked away with a 66-54 win over the Forest Lake Rangers. Given the Ponies' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Rangers are ranked 92nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Stillwater's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points per game. As for Forest Lake, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-3.

Stillwater will head out to take on Andover at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Forest Lake, they will be playing at home against Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Centennial will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Forest Lake surely won't give up without a fight.
