Basketball Game Preview: Tucker Tigers vs. Southwest DeKalb Panthers

The Tucker Tigers and the Southwest DeKalb Panthers will face off at 8:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Tucker comes in on three and Southwest DeKalb on eight.

On Thursday, Tucker didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Marist, but they still walked away with a 67-63 victory.

Meanwhile, Southwest DeKalb strolled past St. Pius X Catholic with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 67-49. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Golden Lions are ranked 97th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Southwest DeKalb's win bumped their record up to 25-2. As for Tucker, their victory bumped their record up to 21-6.

Tucker came up short against Southwest DeKalb in their previous matchup back in January, falling 58-49. Can Tucker avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
