Volleyball Recap: Wednesday's Win Is Providence Grove's Third in Last Four Outings

If Jordan-Matthews wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Providence Grove, they should've done a better job of containing Cheyenne Collins. The Patriots were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Jets on Wednesday for which the team can thank Collins, who had four digs and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Providence Grove walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-18, 25-20.

When it comes to explaining why Jordan-Matthews lost, don't look at Lilli Hicks. Despite the final result, she had 17 digs and two aces. Maggy Jaimes-Pulido also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Providence Grove is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. As for Jordan-Matthews, they dropped their record down to 2-5 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Providence Grove wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Chatham Charter on the 28th. As for Jordan-Matthews, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Asheboro on the 28th.
