Basketball Recap: Castlemont Comes Up Short

Castlemont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Arroyo Dons, falling 71-21. The Knights lost against the Dons in their previous head to head back in December of 2019, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 65-57 score last time.

Castlemont's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Arroyo, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-3.

Castlemont will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Making Waves Academy at 4:30 p.m. on December 23rd. Arroyo will take on Redwood Christian in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at. Arroyo knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Redwood Christian likes a good challenge.
