Baseball Recap: South Brunswick Takes a Loss

South Brunswick was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 6-3 to the Ashley Screaming Eagle. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Screaming Eagle apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

South Brunswick's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Ashley, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 13-0.

Looking ahead, South Brunswick will challenge West Brunswick at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Brunswick's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so South Brunswick's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Ashley, they will face off against North Brunswick at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Ashley's favor as the squad sits on nine straight wins at home while North Brunswick has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
