Softball Recap: Russellville's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

Russellville dropped their record down to 14-11 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Todd County Central Rebels by a score of 5-4. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rebels earlier this season, when they won 4-3.

As for Todd County Central, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since April 19th.

For Todd County Central's part, Olivia Weikel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Dakotah Gammon was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Looking ahead, Russellville will head out on the road to square off against Logan County at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Todd County Central, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Fort Campbell at 6:00 p.m.
