Volleyball Recap: Morrill Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Victory

Morrill waltzed into their match on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Hemingford Bobcats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 on Saturday.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Morrill got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 28-30, 25-12.

Ayla Pittman paced Morrill's offense, picking up ten kills. Pittman really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 14. Katelyn Walker controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Morrill's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Hemingford, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-7.

Morrill has already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Bridgeport on the 23rd. As for Hemingford, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Crawford on October 6.
