Baseball Recap: Pickerington Central Finds Home Field Redemption Against Reynoldsburg

Pickerington Central's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Teays Valley on Wednesday. The Tigers walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Reynoldsburg Raiders. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Raiders, too.

Cael Kogge spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 14 Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Pickerington Central's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is undefeated (and 4-5 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Colton Landtiser was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one double. Cole Metz was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Pickerington Central's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Reynoldsburg, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pickerington Central will challenge Logan at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Reynoldsburg, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Centennial at 12:00 p.m.
