Basketball Recap: Damascus' Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

It was a good run, but Damascus unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 39-32 to the Churchill Bulldogs. The Hornets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Damascus' defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Churchill, their victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2.

Damascus and Churchill should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings. Damascus will face off against Northwood on Monday up 175 places (104 vs. 279). Meanwhile, Churchill (ranked 40th) will meet Richard Montgomery (ranked 151st) on Monday.
