Volleyball Recap: Oswego East Takes a Loss

Oswego East lost against Hinsdale South back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Wolves took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hornets. The Wolves' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

While Oswego East was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-17.

Tom Donovan paced Oswego East's offense, picking up five kills. Donovan got some help from Max Coleman and his nine assists. Coleman also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Nathan Thach, racking up two apiece.

Oswego East's record now sits at 10-13. As for Hinsdale South, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Oswego East will be playing in front of their home fans against Bolingbrook at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Wolves surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hinsdale South, they will venture away from home to challenge St. Charles East at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Fighting Saints will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Hornets surely won't give up without a fight.
