Volleyball Recap: St. Laurence Vikings vs. Chicago Mt. Carmel Caravan

St. Laurence was the 2-0 winner over Chicago Mt. Carmel when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Vikings took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Caravan on Monday.

While St. Laurence was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-11.

Elijah Landeros paced St. Laurence's offense, picking up five kills. Landeros were helped by Julius Holtzclaw and Matthew Suchecki, who contributed seven assists each.

St. Laurence's defeat dropped their record down to 14-14. As for Chicago Mt. Carmel, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-9.

Coming up, St. Laurence will welcome Fenwick at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings are facing the Friars at the right time seeing as the Friars are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Chicago Mt. Carmel, they will head out to take on Carmel at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
