Freeport is 7-1 against Jefferson since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Pretzels are taking a road trip to challenge the J-Hawks at 4:30 p.m. Freeport's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Freeport fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Guilford on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They lost 3-0 to the Vikings. While losing is never fun, Freeport can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 244th, while Guilford are ranked 64th).

Meanwhile, Jefferson was not the first on the board on Tuesday, but they got there more often. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Belvidere. The win continues a trend for Jefferson in their matchups with Belvidere: they've now won five in a row.

Freeport's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8-2. As for Jefferson, the victory got them back to even at 6-6-1.

Freeport got the 'W' when the teams last played back in May of 2025 against Jefferson by a conclusive 4-1 score. In that matchup, the Pretzels amassed a halftime lead of 4-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
