Baseball Recap: Perrysburg Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Perrysburg had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Tinora Rams 9-2 on Thursday. That's more bragging rights for the Yellow Jackets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Tyler Palmer was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Landon Winters was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Connor Kessinger, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Tinora now has a losing record of 1-2.

Perrysburg wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-2 defeat against Ottawa Hills on the 4th. As for Tinora, they will take on Antwerp at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
