Malaki Cary Delivers Electric Performance Vs Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central

Starting off the list is Houston County's Malaki Cary, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Cary rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, and also picked up 88 receiving yards and a touchdown. His longest reception was for an impressive 60 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per catch total.

Cary must have Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. Cary rushed for 187 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries the last time he and the Tigers duked it out back in September of 2023.

Tate Surber's big game helped extend McKenzie's winning streak to seven on Friday. Surber was dynamite, throwing for 144 yards and five touchdowns on only 12 passes, while also rushing for 68 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.

McKenzie's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Surber and McKenzie will square off against Houston County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Houston County Wins Fifth-Straight Thanks to Preston Mitchell

Preston Mitchell's big game helped extend Houston County's winning streak to five on Friday. Mitchell turned in nothing short of a gem, rushing for 162 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.5 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 133 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Mitchell must have Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. When Mitchell last faced the Tigers back in September of 2023, he rushed for 218 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.8 yards per carry.

Jesse Ross Puts an End to Mcewen's Losing Streak on Friday

Jesse Ross helped snap McEwen's three-game losing streak. Ross did his part (and then some), rushing for 40 yards for the 'W'.

The victory got McEwen back to even at 3-3. Ross and McEwen will look to defend their home field on Friday against Waverly Central at 7:00 p.m.
