Volleyball Recap: Kossuth Gets the Win

Kossuth won the last time they faced New Albany and things went their way on Thursday too. The Aggies came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Aggies.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-14, 17-25, 25-13.

Kossuth can attribute much of their success to Chloe Caldwell, who had 12 digs and four aces. Those 12 digs gave Caldwell a new career-high. Hallie Kate Smith also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Kossuth was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. They are a perfect 4-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

When it comes to explaining why New Albany lost, don't look at Lizzie Moore. Despite the final result, she had ten digs and one assist. Moore is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Kossuth's victory bumped their record up to 4-1-2. As for New Albany, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-3-2.

Kossuth didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Tishomingo County on the 11th. New Albany has also already played their next game (against Pontotoc), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
