Preview: Mountain House Mustangs vs. Ceres Bulldogs
The Mountain House Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Ceres Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Ceres took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Mountain House, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Mountain House got themselves on the board against Pacheco, but Pacheco never followed suit. Everything went their way against the Panthers as they made off with a 20-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Mountain House.
The critical scores for Mountain House came from Chidera Kanu, Callahan Healy, and Jackson Milanese.
The team won by holding Pacheco to a paltry 142 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Mountain House's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out four times before it was all said and done. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Iasiah Genio.
Meanwhile, Ceres came up short against Los Banos on Friday and fell 32-21. Ceres has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Ceres saw an underclassman step up: Parker Borges rushed for 11 yards and two touchdowns.
Mountain House has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season. As for Ceres, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 4-4.
