Gosnell came tearing into Thursday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Ashdown Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Pirates have posted since May 2, 2024.

Gosnell pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Ashdown, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gosnell will challenge Searcy at 11:15 a.m. on Friday.
