Baseball Recap: Senn Has No Trouble Against Rickover Naval

Senn won the last time they faced Rickover Naval and things went their way on Saturday too. The Bulldogs blew past the Seadragons 11-4. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won six matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Jones Sweetman made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Senn let Roscoe Segall-Brooks and Owen Garr run wild. Segall-Brooks got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Garr went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those three runs gave Segall-Brooks a new career-high.

The win made it two in a row for Senn and bumps their season record up to 7-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Rickover Naval, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Coming up, Senn will be playing at home against Prosser at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rickover Naval does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
