Recap: Fishburne Military Caissons vs. Massanutten Military Academy Colonels
The Fishburne Military Caissons scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They really took it to Massanutten Military Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 80-40 win on the road. The victory was some much needed relief for Fishburne Military as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Giovanni Belisle was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 12 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Allyn Koger, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 19 rebounds.
Fishburne Military's lineup was just a bit different on Monday as Aaron Legg got a bit more time on the court (ten vs. his season average of five). Legg made the most of the opportunity, scoring four points along with two steals. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.
Fishburne Military's win ended a eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-16. As for Massanutten Military Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fishburne Military will challenge Miller School of Albemarle at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Massanutten Military Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Legacy Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Virginia (Massanutten Military Academy is ranked 382nd, while Legacy Christian Academy is ranked 359th).
