It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Brewer ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Edward Little Red Eddies 8-7. The Witches haven't had any issues with the Red Eddies recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Sara Young made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed eight innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off six hits. Young was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

In other batting news, Emma Jameson and Paige Oakes did most of the damage at the plate: Jameson went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Oakes went a perfect 5-for-5 with one run and one RBI. That double was Jameson's first of the season. Olivia Bragdon was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Brewer was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
