Basketball Recap: Suitland Takes a Loss

Suitland played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 72-31 loss at the hands of the Flowers Jaguars. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 213th, while the Jaguars are ranked 27th).

Flowers' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ava Redmond, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 13 boards. The game was Redmond's third in a row with at least 23 points. Alana Joy was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Suitland is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9. As for Flowers, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-2.

Suitland has already played their next contest (against Wise), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Flowers, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 76-12 victory against Laurel on the 13th.
