Softball Recap: Belpre Comes Up Short

Belpre extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-17. They lost 16-2 to the Eastern Eagles. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

As for Eastern, their record is now 11-8. Considering they have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

For Eastern's part, Ashlynn Thomas 2027 made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Thomas 2027 has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted over her last 11 contests.

In other batting news, Eastern got a massive performance out of Rylie White 2027, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave White 2027 a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Makenzie Robertson 2027, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Coincidentally, Belpre and Eastern will both be playing Warren the next time they take the field. The Eagles will head out to face the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Golden Eagles will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
