Basketball Recap: Meridian Takes a Loss

Meridian lost against Osceola back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Meridian Mustangs had to suffer through a 70-33 loss at the hands of the Osceola Bulldogs. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Osceola was led to victory by Kelby Neujahr and Jackson Winslow. Neujahr went 6 for 7 to rack up 12 points along with six boards and five steals, while Winslow went 5 of 8 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds. Neujahr is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Braxton Mestl, who posted ten points and five rebounds.

Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Osceola, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season.

We've got a battle between Mustangs coming up. As for Osceola, they will take on Heartland at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
