Lakota East came tearing into Thursday's matchup with five straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Middletown Middies. That's more bragging rights for the Thunderhawks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Grant Simer paced Lakota East's offense, picking up 14 kills. Simer got some help from Jude Callahan and his 29 assists. Simer was also solid from the service line: he led the team with ten aces.

Lakota East's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-2. As for Middletown, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakota East will head out to square off against Mt. Vernon at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Middletown, they will venture away from home to face off against Princeton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
