Basketball Recap: Ansonia Chargers vs. Torrington Raiders
After a string of seven wins, the Ansonia Chargers's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 74-57 bruising from Torrington. Ansonia was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Torrington to victory, but perhaps none more so than William Parkhouse, who went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 28 points and 4 assists. Another player making a difference was Isaac Fenn, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds.
Ansonia's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-5. As for Torrington, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.
Ansonia will head out on the road to face off against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Torrington, they will be playing at home against the Greyhounds at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
